What's your most embarrassing moment? |
I
often have embarrassing moments but one that stands out the most is
doing a massive interview with a top CEO who’s company had spent so
much money on a competition and I hit a blank and forgot the guys name
completely when saying thank you at the end – very akward and totally
unprofessional! |

What's the best piece of advice you've received? |
Decisions are never easy but once you’ve made your mind up stick it out for as long as you can.
|
What's your secret indulgence? |
Very expensive watches and fast cars |
| |
Who has influenced you most? |
People
with a great sense of humour! There are so many of them out there who
are looking at life with a hint of optimism and a smile through the
tough times we’re all experiencing in the country at the moment. |

| What's a typical Sunday morning like for you? |
At the moment it’s gonna be to get as much sleep as I can over the next
few weekends but I guess that will change in time. I am a family guy so
Sunday’s are all about family time. |

| Ryan
O’ Connor is a born and bred Capetonian and says he “loves the city and
its people.” He got his first job in radio at community station CCFM in
1995, shortly after matriculating from Edgemead High School. “I had a
Christian dance music show on Friday nights, but it was my break into
radio and I was grateful for it,” he says. Ryan gained further radio
experience by writing and presenting weekend sport on 94.5 Kfm, before
moving to Good Hope FM, where he stayed for close to nine years
presenting first the breakfast show and then afternoon drive. During
this time he also did a short weekend stint at 5FM. Ryan says he always
wanted to be a radio presenter. “I grew up listening to the radio a
lot, so music has always been a part of my life. Even as a kid I knew
that I would be in radio one day.” When he’s not presenting the Cape’s
biggest breakfast show on 94.5 Kfm, Ryan enjoys spending time outdoors,
running and cycling. At home he enjoys watching sport, listening to
80’s music, collecting sought after Swiss watches and spending time
with his wife. |
