Big corporates have stepped up to assist with relief efforts in Knysna, with R13 million being pledged on KFM in the past 24 hours.
The KFM Drive on Thursday raised R2.5 million from four sponsors to Gift of the Givers in less than two hours:
• OUTsurance pledged R250 000
• Santam pledged R1 million
• Old Mutual pledged R500 000
• Discovery pledged R750 000

On the KFM Breakfast this morning, the team – which broadcast their show live from Knysna – raised R10.5 million from an incredible R10 million donation from FNB and a R500 000 donation from Sanlam, both of which will go through to help people in the area.
Meanwhile, other businesses across South Africa have pledged to get involved. Online retailer One Day Only has donated R20 000 to Gift of the Givers and challenged other brands in the space to donate too, while Absa bank also donated R10 million and 5 600 Absa Cape Epic tents to disaster relief.
Clicks also pledged to donate R100 000 worth of product to those impacted by the fires.
