CAPE TOWN - Local motorsport fans will have the opportunity to see their favourite international rally drivers in action at Killarney.

The circuit will this weekend host the season finale of the 2017 FIA World rallycross championship.

Killarney Raceway officials say that all the necessary measures are in place to host this prestigious racing event.

Double World RX and 2003 World Rally champion Petter Solberg says that he's hoping to secure the runner-up spot this weekend.

The 2017 World Rallycross Championship has already been won by Johan Kristoffersson.

Two South Africans, Ashley Haigh-Smith and Mark Cronje, are also vying for a podium finish during this leg of the event.
