Girl guides and girl scouts across the Western Cape have made it into the Guinness Book of World Records.

They've created the world’s longest string of plastic bottle lids.

Ranger leader for Bothasig, Tanya Prinsloo says they managed to create a string of 121 600 lids, measuring 1.3km.

There were about 300 girls there, friends and family came over to support, it was an incredible sight.
