CAPE TOWN - A cold front is settling in over Cape Town on Monday.

The weather service predicts that heavy rains will persist until Tuesday morning.

Emergency workers are on high alight in the event of flooding.

City of Cape Town disaster risk officials will remain on high alert.

Disaster Risk Management Spokesperson Charlotte Powell said: "The South African Weather Service has advised the disaster management centre that a developed cold front is expected to make landfall during the course of Monday. Heavy rain leading to localised flooding is expected in places over the Cape metropol. The disaster management centre, together with other city services, will remain watchful during this period.”
