In this episode of Time In The Saddle, Chris Willemse Jnr, Jason Lindt and Oliver Munnik join Kfm's Ryan O'Connor for a chat about cycling.
They elaborate on the various cycling related products and businesses in which they are involved.
The men describe the Tour de Bogan, an event that allows them to let it all hang out. Munnik says a 'bogan' is described by urban dictionary as an uncouth or unsophisticated person.
For one week only, all our wives give us a pink slip and about ten to fifteen of us headed off into the Karoo, and most of the fun was organising it and coming up with some silly rules and just going out with your mates and riding.
Munnik says a Cape Town local Wayne Rygie who captured the tour magnificently on camera.
Though the tour was a lot of jokes and fun, he says there is a more serious side to it.
We want to advocate going out and experiencing South Africa. It doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. There is this thing called a strava heat map and you can see where cyclists have been....and you can design your route.
A lot of the roads are servitudes which are legal access but you just need to know your way around, he says.
There has been a great deal of interest shown and hopefully, they will organise more such events.
