Time in the Saddle is a podcast series hosted by avid cyclist and radio veteran, Ryan O’Connor focusing on all things exciting in the world of cycling. In the twenty-fourth episode, Ryan and Chris discuss the South Africa's favourite three-day mountain bike stage race.

"It’s the season of cycling in South Africa" – with Summer on its way, cyclists are back on their bikes and, training for the FNB Wines2Whales, a world-class 3-day stage race in the Western Cape.

Mountain bike riders will start in the Winelands of Somerset West and, will cross through 13 wineries, 26 private farms, six mountains, historic roads and mountain passes, nature conservation areas, including the Kogelberg Biosphere, over three days before finishing within sight of the famous whales of Walker Bay in Hermanus.

If you and a cycling partner who are maybe possibly thinking of doing something like the Epic together, it's a great learning experience for you.

Did you know there's a fourth one? It's called the Jeroboam... and, you know what the Jeroboam is... if you do all three in other words, you're basically on your bike doing the same route for just over a week.

Ryan O’Connor – Kfm 94.5 radio presenter

If you complete in all three with your partner, it's called a Jeroboam - it's a very special category of rider.
