The Kfm Mornings team celebrated World Guinness Record Day by chatting to some of South Africa's top achievers.
The team spoke to Tanya Prinsloo about her record for the longest string of plastic bottle tops. The string measured at a whopping 1.375 kilometres, consisting of 121,600 bottle tops.
This was followed by the smallest ostrich, Tom Thumb, who measures at 127 cm. Thumb is an adult male African ostrich based at the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch.
The ostrich is fully grown and measures 57cm from the ground to the patella when standing and 51cm from the base of the neck to the base of the head.
The average male ostrich is usually 1.8 - 2.7 meters tall, while female ostriches are 1.7 - 2 meters tall.
One very dangerous record occurred on the Grande Parade where 32 stunt performers were burned, for 30 seconds (from when the last person was set alight).
Kfm Mornings spoke to Kevin Bitters who was involved in achieving this great feat.
