The principal of the Holy Cross Primary School in Zonnebloem, has expressed gratitude after the latest act of kindness from Capetonians.

Nomthandazo Zweni says learners and staff are recovering after a devastating fire two weeks ago left them without schoolbags, stationery, a computer room and library.

Various retailers, corporate companies, NPOs and generous residents have reached out to help the school get back on its feet.

Now 100 hardcover exercise books have been donated by a CapeTalk listener who wishes to remain anonymous.

Zweni says the school community has been overwhelemed by the kindness, adding that every small contribution has made a big difference to the children's lives.

She explains that counselling sessions have helped the school community to remain strong and function once again.
