'Tis the season where matriculants everywhere are under pressure to spend thousands of their hard-earned cash on ball gowns, tailored suits, flashy cars and, the all-important after party!
It's more than a rite of passage. If you're in school, it's life!
Matric Dance Season is such a do, you'd be forgiven for thinking that you're watching TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress" – Prom edition.
WHAT TO WEAR?
Be prepared to hear of stories of costs going in excess of R20,000 – because expensive dresses, suits, vintage cars, top designers, hair stylists and make-up artists don't come cheap!
Well, enter Nikita Schronen. A grade 12 pupil from Fairbairn College who decided to translate her love for the DHL Stormers into a stunning matric dance dress and, the results are phenomenal.
Not only was the dress unique, it also got a stamp of approval from Rachel Kolisi, wife of Springbok Captain, Siya Kolisi.
