Phobia

/ˈfəʊbɪə/

noun:
an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.

The very definition of a phobia is an "irrational fear."

Phobias are always overreactions to mild dangers, constant fear of rare dangers, and outright terror of things that are not dangerous at all.

Because of their irrationality, it seems like phobias can't have an evolutionary purpose. But why do we have them?

Sharing his fear of confined spaces, i.e. claustrophobia, Carl Wastie wanted to know what your fears and phobias are and spoke to clinical psychologist, Welmoet Bok, to find out where our various phobias/fears come from.

Here are the 10 Most Common Phobias
