Lotto winnings to the tune of millions remains unclaimed, and one R23 million winning ticket is still sitting in the pot.

Ithuba corporate relations executive Khensani Mabuza, chats to Kieno Kammies about the large sum that has never been claimed.

The ticket was bought at Shell Amberfield in Centurion with a R30 ticket and it was a Quickpick selection.

All winning tickets expire after 365 days, she says.

The unclaimed winnings are then put into the national lottery distribution fund, and that money then gets redistributed back into the community.

She says the most successful game on the app for jackpot winners is the Daily Lotto, ranging between R100 000 and R600 000 and must be claimed every day.
