US sprinter Justin Gatlin is a three-time Olympian (2004, 2012, 2016) and five-time Olympic medalist (1 gold, 2 silvers, 2 bronzes). In 2005, he became only the second man in history to sweep the 100- and 200-meter world titles.

American hurdler Sharrieffa Barksdale competed at the 1984 summer Olympics where she reached the semi-finals in women's 400m hurdles.

The two Olympians are in Cape Town to promote their global youth empowerment initiative for athletes, Born2BeElite.

Born2BeElite is an initiative for youth. We start by training coached to train athletes. It's not only about speed and agility but education as well.

- Dr. Sharrieffa
