Time in the Saddle is a podcast series hosted by avid cyclist and radio veteran, Ryan O’Connor focusing on all things exciting in the world of cycling.

This week, Ryan is joined by Nick Barr and Jason Lindt.

The cycling enthusiasts talk about the upcoming Coronation Double Century, where Jason Lindt is participating in a social team.

I am with a social group of people, although some of them have had official training rides with the Western Cape government - so I don't know how social they are going to be

- Jason Lindt

I'm in a team of twelve, and it's essentially a team timed race, so a couple of teams start every few minutes and the fastest team start last and race past all of us slow folk. We'll kick off early in the morning and just aim to get in there by lunch-time

- Jason Lindt

The cyclists go on to discuss their cycling and cross-training plans for the festive season.

A lot of people now almost - I don't want to say detrain - but kind of take it a little easier

- Ryan O'Connor

What kind of training do people do over the festive season? There are a couple of challenges, I've heard of the one between Christmas and the New Year where you have to do 100km's a day

- Ryan O'Connor
