KFCProposal goes viral, here's what happened:
So, around 2:12pm Kateka Glen Malobola was walking out of a client's store which is opposite the KFC in Evaton Mall and heard ladies ululating.
Kateka then took out his cellphone, standing outside the outlet looking through the glass window and captured the video of Hector Mkansi and Nonhlanhla Soldaat's proposal and shared it with his friend on WhatsApp.
Kateka then carried on to share the video on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and tagged KFC South Africa.
Next thing, KFC then reacted with curiosity to the post and was on a search for the couple on social media.
In no time, South Africa had united with awe-inspiring support, with brands and individuals coming together to offer gifts of services and items to make the couple's big day a lavish experience.
Brands including Chicken Licken, Standard Bank, Total, Sun City Resort, FNB, Woolworths, Puma, Castle Lite, Audi, Huawei, Kulula, Siwela Wines and Coca Cola reacted with enthusiasm to support the couple.
947’s DJ Fresh and Zakes Bantwini also offered their performances at no cost for the wedding.
While Precious the Planner offered to plan, design and coordinate the wedding pro bono and collaborate with one of the venues, dress and suit designers she works with if the brand covers hard costs.
Hector Mkansi and Nonhlanhla Soldaat have expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards South Africa for their captivating positive reaction towards their love story.
Thank you, South Africa. Your kindness has truly warmed us. We would have never imagined that our love story would have touched so many of you. While we appreciate the support, we ask that you please give us a moment to take it all in. We will let you know about our plans for the wedding.
