“I have always wanted to be a lawyer, but when my daughter was born in 2009 that’s when it really hit me that I need to pursue my goal.”

At 33, Tertius Nyawose realised a lifelong dream. He is now a qualified attorney. He started working at the age of 12 in Port Shepstone to help out his mom, who struggled to make ends meet with her meager wages as a school caretaker.

When he failed matric he thought his dreams of becoming a lawyer were dashed. Ashamed of the failure, he ran away from home and lived with a relative in Gauteng. He took up several jobs, while repeating his matric at a night school.

Nikiwe Bikitsha met him 8 years ago while he was working as a personal trainer and he told her about his dream of becoming a lawyer.

It’s been years of struggle and sacrifice, but now the stocky and sinewy muscled fitness trainer, will exchange his tracksuits for dark suits. In this week's podcast episode of Face To Face with Success, Bikitsha sits down with Nyawose to reflect on his journey to success.
