Time in the Saddle is a podcast series hosted by avid cyclist and radio veteran, Ryan O’Connor focusing on all things exciting in the world of cycling. In the fifth episode, Ryan talks all things from etiquette to performance and progress tracking with cyclist, Chris Willemse Jnr.

This week, Ryan O’Connor and Chris Willemse Jnr touch on riding etiquette among cyclists and keeping track of your progress with apps and watches.

What is the rule when you're passing another cyclist on the road?

Do you greet or do you ignore them, asks Ryan.

Chris says, "... always greet, even if you don't [have to] say hi, just lift your hand. It does actually kill you when you lift your hand and you greet someone and, he just looks at you and he doesn't do anything back."

Chatting to Martin from Suunto, Ryan and Chris discuss the journey of activity tracking and health tracking as well as the latest technology in Suunto watches.

A lot of athletes and people at this level of exercise like to make sure that they don't become sick, so they want to record their recovery and, that's one of the most informative things about Suunto.

Martin – Suunto South Africa
