Time in the Saddle is a podcast series hosted by avid cyclist and radio veteran, Ryan O’Connor focusing on all things exciting in the world of cycling. In the first episode, Ryan talks everything from new trails to tips for keeping your bike clean with cyclists, Chris Willemse Jnr and Jason Lind.

Kicking off the discussion, Ryan O'Connor, Chris Willemse Jnr and Jason Lind compare the hours they've spent in the saddle in the past week before offering tips on bicycle maintenance.

As a cyclist, how often should you maintain your bicycle?

A lot more than most people do...

Jason Lind – Olympic Cycles

He says, "sand on your chain is like sand paper on your chain, it's going to wear it out and that's going to wear out all those other parts."

He also suggests cleaning off dust and mud on your chain to prevent rust and corrosion of the bicycle.

Keeping it clean is really the best maintenance that anyone can do and, that should be done relatively frequently.
