Dam levels in Cape Town have now risen to 65.9% according to the latest figures released by the City of Cape Town on Monday.

At the same time, the average dam level across the Western Cape has risen to 58%, according to EWN reports.

Despite this, the National Department of Water and Sanitation maintains that dam levels must reach 85% before water restrictions can be relaxed.

More rainfall is expected across the Cape throughout the week which may help further boost water supply.
