The project to increase the wall and the capacity of the Clanwilliam Dam is up and running again after numerous delays.

It is also a relief to see the dam full to the top again - and to know that the wall will be raised in years to come to increase the volume.

Pippa Hudson chats to MEC for Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Anton Bredell about getting the project back on track.

It is a 13 metre raise of the dam wall and that will double the capacity within the dam.

He says it will have huge advantages such as job creation in what is a poor area.

More farming will be made available due to the increased water supply.

The impact on the region will be huge, he says.
