The City of Cape Town has declared the water crisis a local disaster as residents and businesses continue to find creative solutions to saving the scarce resource.

NPO GreenCape is leading the way by working with the corporate sector to help ensure that companies are water wise.

GreenCape's Claire Pengelly explains that the organisation has helped companies such as Old Mutual adopt water sustainability solutions.

Pengelly says businesses have come forward seeking opportunities to adopt green initiatives to reduce water consumption.

She explains that businesses that use water in their production process need to focus on water reuse and capturing or treating waste water on site.
