Richard Hardiman

What's your most embarrassing moment?
I went to watch my sister in a modelling competition a number of years ago. My brother and I were fleecing the bar for as much free alcohol as possible – due to the fact that a wine farm had sponsored the event.

Having no faith in our sister to win (true brotherly love) we proceeded to do what we did best which was: to drink wine and ogle the other models. When the MC (Alex Jay) announced that my sister was in fact the winner, we were ecstatic! So much so, that I thought it would be a great idea to scale the one and half meter high catwalk, run across the stage and hug my sister. Sadly in my drunken state, I caught my foot on the edge of the stage, stumbled across it at a running pace and careered into my sister. She may even have forgiven me for that, but right at that moment she was doing a TV interview and I managed to take her, her agent and the sound man to the ground with me - all at the same time...
What's the best piece of advice you've received?
"Sometimes you just have to wait"...I think it was my mother who told me that...something to with Christmas presents and it only been the 20th of December...but I have used it in other spheres of my life too.

What's your secret indulgence?
Spending money...sadly its not a secret anymore...my bank manager knows all about it....

Who has influenced you most?
My Grandfather - truly a gentleman
What's a typical Sunday morning like for you?
Sleeping in - Sunday is the only day I don't work so I really try and make use of my bed as much as possible...
Bio
Capetonians are familiar with Richard Hardiman the Partyman and his move to the afternoon drive show on 94.5 Kfm was a popular one. Thousands of listeners now know that the best way to neutralise the stress of a busy day in Cape Town is to tune in to his 3 to 7pm show on weekdays. When he is not on air Richard indulges himself and his talents in the art of stand-up comedy and scriptwriting and is currently writing a children’s book. He is also a sought after voice artist and a naturally good MC. It’s not just the gift of the gab though. Richard has a background in Ecommerce, advanced web-development, marketing and business. He spent four years traveling the States as an Executive VIP host in the gambling industry. Mr July on the 2006 Cosmopolitan sexiest man calendar, this hunky 31 year old says he spends whatever free time he has “looking for that next challenge.” He says he also surfs, "badly", and loves traveling and exploring. Richard is married and recently became the proud father of a son.
