What's
your most embarrassing moment?
When I was at varsity, I had a notorious habit for sleeping while sitting up in class.
During a very serious law lecture, my sleeping posture failed me and I craned forward to hit my head squarely on the wooden desk.
The impact rang out like a gunshot across the lecture hall with everyone turning to see what happened.
In true casual fashion, I swivel and turned along with the rest of the curious class to see what the sound had been.
Naturally, I was more than a little red in the face! |
What's the best piece
of advice you've received?
From my Dad, "The first one third of your life will more than likely dictate the next two thirds, so take the energy you have while you're young and make the most of it." |
What's your secret
indulgence?
Soppy music. Usually I listen to very uptempo rock and house music, but every now and then a soppy slow jam is just what the DJ ordered to get you crooning along. |
Who has influenced you
most?
Definitely my parents, who put up with my hairbrained ideas and constant refusal to do as I'm told. Their support in my many different endeavours meant that I could chase my dreams knowing that they were behind me. |
What's a typical Sunday morning
like for you?
Sundays are usually spent sleeping in and milling about before I go for lunch at my Mom’s place. Nothing beats Mom’s home cooked Sunday lunch in my books. |

Lester Hein started his radio career at UCT campus radio and was instantly bitten by the on air bug.
In addition to his on air activities, he runs a successful Cape Town based record label. |
