Podcasting? What is that?
Podcasting is best described as “radio on demand”. As a listener (or “podcatcher”) you subscribe to the programmes of your choice using a Podcasting program like iTunes. This program then automatically checks for a new programme and if one is available, it downloads it automatically. So, for example you could leave your computer on, and have the Podcasting program download the content overnight while you’re asleep. Then, you have the content ready to play on your computer or MP3 player of choice in the morning.
So basically I can download radio content and listen to it anytime I like?
Exactly. Rather than have to tune in at the broadcast time of the programme, you can simply download the content and listen at your convenience.
Is the Podcasting programme free?
Yes. We recommend using Apple iTunes (Mac & Windows).
- Getting the podcast
1. Once you have downloaded iTunes open it and drag the XML Podcast icon  into the podcast section of iTunes. Alternatively open iTunes, click on Advanced and then Subscribe to Podcast. Enter this link: http://www.kfm.co.za/podcast/podcast_whackheadswindow.asp
- Adjust the settings on iTunes to update automatically every time you log on to the internet, or only when you prompt it. To set the frequency iTunes checks for new subscription podcast episodes, choose Edit > Preferences and click Podcasts. Then choose an option from the "Check for new episodes" pop-up menu.
- It'll take a few minutes to download the content each time you log on (depending on your connection).
Do I need an iPod to get a podcast?
No. In fact, anything will work, as long as it plays MP3 files. You can even listen on your computer. You could even use your PDA or smartphone.
What format will the podcasts be in?
They will be in MP3 format, meaning you will be able to play them on any portable media player, as well as any PC, Mac or Linux platform computer.
Is there any free music available on the podcasts?
No. We respect the talent of the musicians that we play on the air: so no, you won't find any full-length music songs in our podcast. To hear the songs we play, listen to 94.5 Kfm .
What shows will you be podcasting?

Will there be exclusive podcast content?
Absolutely; we intend to make available various exclusive shows that will not be broadcast. To keep track of what shows we are podcasting, we recommend keeping an eye on the podcast page, which will tell you exactly what shows have been added as they go online.
