Resident fitness enthusiast Liezel van der Westhuizen discusses a hip-thrustingly odd exercise you may just thank Instagram for popularizing.

She joins CapeTalk's Africa Melane.

"I saw on Instagram, trainers lying on the floor and thrusting their hips in the air," Liezel explains.

Frog Pumps were created by American sports biomechanist Bret Contreras, known as "The Glute Guy". Liezel describes it as the love child of the butterfly pose and the glute bridge.

You lay on your back, bring the soles of your feet together, knees out and thrust your hips upwards.

As you get better, you can add some weights for resistance.

You need to make sure that you have no hip, glute or lower back injuries before you try this workout.
